Self confidence. They say that you cannot really gauge your level of confidence until you go out, face a crowd and perform. You need confidence to ace your competitors. Its something that affects your overall performance. Its not easy to gain this attribute. But the more you work at it, the better you become.

Stage presence. Have you ever been into a concert when you just can help but sing and dance along with the performers. That feeling of euphoria, fun and excitement is magnified by the astounding performance of your favorite artist. You need to impart this kind of energy to the public. To some, this comes in naturally. But you can always improve your skills by practicing.

Personality. Your own attitude can affect your performance whether you like it or not. But since you are impersonating, you should make sure that what shows in front of the people is that of Elvis Presleys character. When you impersonate, its not all about you. Its about the character you are playing.

Fashion and looks. Of course, you cannot set aside the looks. Its about bringing to life someone from the past after all. Its only appropriate that you get his looks as well. Start by thinking of the fashion sense. This includes the clothing, accessories, hair style and make up. The closer you look like to the original, the better.

Practice singing. You cannot just expect to win the contest unless you have the voice capable of impersonating Mr. Presleys. Apart from the selection of a good song, you should practice your vocals as well. Even top artists invest time in practicing. There is no reason why you should not.
